Barry Manilow’s onetime Hollywood Hills address hits the market

A Hollywood Hills West residence once home to consummate crooner Barry Manilow has come to market for $2.865 million.

The Spanish Revival-style home, occupied by the singer-songwriter during the 1970s, has changed hands on four separate occasions over the last two decades, most recently in 2011 for $1.85 million. In 2006, near the height of the market, the home sold for $2.12 million. Eight years earlier it went for $1 million and in 1993 it sold for $650,000.

Set on a sloping corner lot, the 3,995-square-foot home features bright tile, beamed ceilings, detailed ironwork and a multi-level foyer. The main level has formal dining and living room areas, a library and a center-island chef’s kitchen. There are four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms.

A lower-level space contains a soundproof media room and music studio. Two separate staircases navigate between living quarters.

French doors open to an inner courtyard and al fresco dining area. A city-facing balcony sits off of the master suite.

Manilow, 71, is known for the hits “Mandy,” “Could It Be Magic” and “Copacabana,” the latter of which won a pop vocal Grammy for in 1978. His “One Last Time!” tour this year is scheduled to make a stop in Los Angeles at Staples Center in April.
