Blake Griffin scores $9-million home in Pacific Palisades

Blake Griffin is moving up and down the court in this week’s playoff action as L.A. Clippers power forward, but earlier in the season he was making another sort of move buying a newly built home in Pacific Palisades for $9 million.

The Cape Cod-inspired three-story house has 9,100 square feet of living space -- just under the size of two NBA courts.

Inside the front door is a 24-foot tall foyer (clearly enough height to park a 10-foot-high basketball hoop), a curved floating-style staircase and an eye-catching chandelier.

Espresso-toned wood floors and details set off the interiors. Coffered ceilings and doors that disappear to open the home to the outdoors are among a roster of amenities.

The kitchen island has enough seats for the Clippers starting lineup. The home theater is walled in floor-to-ceiling burgundy suede panels and includes a 130-inch screen and stadium seating.

There’s a gym, three fireplaces, six bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms. The master bathroom and closet are mammoth.

A saltwater swimming pool with multi-colored LED lights, an outdoor kitchen and lawn fill the three-acre lot.

Griffin, 25, started his pro career in 2009 signing with the Los Angeles Clippers. Initially side-lined by injury, he took off in 2011 receiving Rookie of the Year honors. He has made the NBA All-Star team four times and is under a five-year, $95-million contract.
