NHL defenseman Cam Fowler is testing the waters in Newport Beach.

The Anaheim Duck has listed his two-story home in the area for $1.738 million, or about half a million more than what he paid for the home in 2013, records show.

Hardwood floors create visual contrast against white walls within the renovated interior, which features crown molding and contemporary fixtures. An upgraded gourmet kitchen is now equipped with granite countertops and a custom center island.

The roughly 3,000 square feet of living space also has a living room with a fireplace and a breakfast nook with built-ins. Arched doorways lead from room to room, and French doors open to a side yard with a patio and grill.

On the second floor, there are four bedrooms including a master suite with a walk-in closet.

Built in 2001, the home is in the Cliff Haven neighborhood. It is referred to as a “detached condominium,” according to the listing. Detached condos are generally freestanding but sit on leased land.

John Cain and Heather Hosto of HOM Sotheby’s International Realty hold the listing.

The 26-year-old Fowler was drafted 12th overall by the Ducks in 2010. After racking up 45 goals and 172 assists with the team, he signed an eight-year deal last year worth $52 million.
