Warner Bros. Records CEO buys a Buff, Straub & Hensman in Pacific Palisades

Cameron Strang, the chairman and chief executive of Warner Bros. Records, has bought a pedigreed home in Pacific Palisades for $6.5 million.

Designed by noted architectural firm Buff, Straub & Hensman, the 1956 residence sits on two acres of grounds filled with mature oaks and sycamore trees.

Entered through a Zen-inspired courtyard, the single-story post-and-beam retains such original details as inlaid wood floors, ash plywood cabinetry and a centerpiece fireplace in the living room. Floor-to-ceiling walls of glass and clerestory windows bring the outdoors inside the home’s four dedicated wings.

Open common areas include dining and family rooms, a kitchen with period cabinetry, four bedrooms and three bathroom in nearly 3,400 square feet of living space. The master suite has a smaller brick-wall fireplace and sliding glass doors that open to an informal patio.

Outdoors, beamed awnings provide cover for entertaining areas. A swimming pool, lawns and mature landscaping fill out the grounds.

The house returned to market in July for $7.249 million, records show. It had been owned by the same family for about seven decades.

Susan Perryman of Hilton & Hyland, an affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate, was the listing agent.

Strang previously founded New West Records, DMZ Records and Southside Independent Music Publishing, the latter of which was behind such hit songs as Cee Lo Green’s “Forget You” and Bruno Mars’ “Grenade.” He joined Warner Bros. Records under his current titles in 2011.
