Incubus DJ Chris Kilmore sells his Mediterranean in Topanga for $1.55 million
Incubus DJ and keyboardist Chris Kilmore has parted ways with his longtime home in Topanga, selling the gated estate for $1.55 million. That’s a pretty nice return for the musician, who paid $815,000 for the home in 2002.
Sitting on more than a third of an acre, the 1990 Mediterranean combines classic and contemporary elements. Details include vaulted ceilings with exposed beams, Saltillo tile and hardwood floors and lighted tray ceilings.
A great room, a dining area, a home theater, a renovated kitchen, four bedrooms and five bathrooms lie within more than 3,900 square feet of living space. A separate den/office previously held Kilmore’s vinyl collection.
The master suite, with a soaking tub and glass-enclosed shower, has glass doors that open to a sun room.
Outdoors, the tree-topped grounds center on a spa with a stacked-stone water feature. An outdoor fireplace, a built-in barbecue and a putting green round out the property.
Tenny Crawford of Hilton & Hyland, an affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate, handled both ends of the deal.
Kilmore, also known as DJ Kilmore, joined Incubus in the late 1990s and has been involved with five of the alt-rock group’s seven studio albums. He has also written soundtrack material for the film “Little Nicky” and the TV series “Conan.”
