Now that the presidential election has been decided, we’ve turned our attention away from the state of the nation and toward the state of housing.

The Southern California residential market remains unseasonably hot and shows few signs of cooling down. So until the upcoming holidays place a chill on home sales, sit back and feast your eyes on some of the latest deals.

His Midas touch

Johnny Depp’s box-office dollar draw extends to the world of real estate too. The actor has sold the second of his five penthouses in the Eastern Columbia Building for $3.09 million.

The two-story corner unit has 2,400 square feet of interiors as well as a rooftop garden and enclosed terrace. The kitchen opens to the main living area on the first floor.

On the second level, windows set in an exposed brick facade frame views of the skyline. The two en-suite bedrooms feature chevron pattern hardwood flooring and tile bathrooms.

This is the second of his five penthouses to sell. The remaining three are still being marketed.

Depp, 53, has scores of film credits, including “Edward Scissorhands,” “Donnie Brasco” and the “Pirates of the Caribbean” films.

Ready to walk

Actor J.K. Simmons has listed an estate for sale in Del Mar at $4.495 million.

The 1.6 acres of tropically landscaped grounds include a contemporary main residence, a detached casita, a guesthouse, a tennis court and a swimming pool with a waterfall.

The 8,763 square feet of living space, rebuilt in 2004, includes a multimedia/family room, a formal dining room, a study, seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms. Scope out the 100-pair shoe closet.

Simmons, 61, is known for movies including “Whiplash” (2014) and “Spider-Man” (2002), as well as the series “The Closer” (2005-12).

Laker lands in L.A.

New Lakers player Luol Deng is wasting no time making himself at home in the City of Angels. The 31-year-old small forward recently sealed the deal on a newly built contemporary in Brentwood for $6.15 million.

The three-story house features an open floor plan, a media room, a lounge, an office and seven bedrooms within its 6,518 square feet of living space.

Equipped with an elevator, the house is topped by a nearly 1,000-square-foot roof deck with city and ocean views and an outdoor fireplace.

The two-time NBA All-Star has played for the Chicago Bulls, the Cleveland Cavaliers and, most recently, the Miami Heat.

Waterfront basketball court

Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen has reduced the asking price of his Fort Lauderdale mansion to $10.9 million. Or for $12.5 million he’ll toss in his yacht.

The estate of the six-time NBA champion has nearly 10,000 square feet of living space, but the real fun is outdoors. The pool area includes waterfalls and a giant water slide. There’s also a waterfront basketball court and a putting green.

The Italianate house features a three-story foyer, a temperature-controlled wine room, a home theater and six bedrooms.

Pippen, 51, played small forward. He made seven All-Star teams and eight All-Defensive First Teams during his 17-season pro career.

Party-perfect grounds

Singer-songwriter Trey Songz has settled into a modern home in the gated community of Bell Canyon. The purchase price was $3.45 million.

Set on a quiet cul-de-sac, the one-acre property takes in mountain views and includes a 7,800-square-foot five-bedroom main house, a 900-square-foot guesthouse, a tennis court and an orchard.

The grounds contain a swimming pool, a spa, an outdoor kitchen with barbecue, an outdoor dining area, patios and lawn.

The R&B and hip-hop artist, 31, has released six studio albums including “Trigga” two years ago.

Bathroom with a view

Actress-writer Andrea Savage has sold her Sherman Oaks home for close to $2.95 million.

Set behind gates, the half-acre compound contains a custom-built 2002 Mediterranean two-story, a swimming pool with a spa, mature trees, lawn and a motor court. The nearly 5,900 square feet of living space includes a two-story living room, a great room, an office, a gym, seven bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms.

But what really caught our eye were the sweeping canyon and city light views from the corner window in the master bathroom.

Savage, 43, has been in the series “Veep,” “Episodes” and “iZombie.” She bought the property six years ago for $2.415 million.

Ten years ago, a Hawaii-themed column looked at the stars buying and selling in the islands. Among them was Daniel Dae Kim of the hit series “Lost.” He paid about $1.5 million for a 3,500-square-foot home on Oahu.

Twenty years ago, NBA Hall-of-Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar expanded his Beverly Hills-area home by nearly 3,000 square feet and added a gym, a squash court and guest quarters. Industry sources estimated the Lakers player put about $600,000 into the improvements.
