Former ‘Idol’ judge Randy Jackson sells gated estate in Tarzana

Randy Jackson of “American Idol” fame has parted ways with his home in Tarzana for $1.9 million.

The Spanish-style residence, built in 1990, rests behind tall hedges and a privacy wall on more than half an acre with a guest house, a pool and a spa. Spanning two floors, the home includes a chef’s kitchen, a grand dining room, five bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms in 5,878 square feet of living space.

Among its features are a second-floor balcony, a formal living room with a wet bar and a master suite with his and her baths and direct access to an outdoor spa. The guest cabana adds an additional bedroom suite and a full kitchen.

The Grammy-winning producer, 58, has worked with such stars as Mariah Carey, Celine Dion and Whitney Houston, among others. He appeared on “Idol” last season as a music mentor after working as a judge on the FOX series for more than a decade.

Jackson had asked as much as $2.199 million for the property, which came to market in June. He paid $2.725 million for the home in 2005, records show.

Kenneth Margols of Sotheby’s International Realty was the listing agent. Alan Parness of Rodeo Realty represented the buyer in the sale.
