Celebrity photographer sharpens up 1928 home in Los Feliz

This Spanish/Mediterranean-style home listed in Los Feliz for $3.2 million dates from 1928. Calvin Coolidge was president, and Los Angeles City Hall opened that year.

More recently, the “Old Hollywood” vibe estate sold for $1.55 million two years ago to celebrity photographer and designer Mark Liddell, who has renovated and refocused the living space.

Fifteen year ago the property sold for $960,000, and a quarter-century ago it went for $600,000.

Beyond a hand-carved gate, lavender flanks the terra-cotta path to the front door, which opens to a two-story rotunda foyer with a sweeping staircase and powder room.

The formal living room features a wood-truss ceiling, a fireplace and peg-and-groove mahogany floors. The kitchen, which has cabinets made of reclaimed wood, looks out on the courtyard, swimming pool and outdoor dining areas.

The family room has a fireplace with a Moroccan tile surround. Five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms complete the 4,052 square feet of living space.

Liddell has photographed such Hollywood stars as Christina Aguilera, Matthew McConaughey, Avril Lavigne and Cameron Diaz.

Timothy Durkovic of Dilbeck Real Estate is the listing agent.
