Vince Vaughn’s new $3.9-million pad is ‘so money’
Vince Vaughn has bought a house for $3.925 million in an area of Los Angeles one might not normally associate with actors -- La Canada Flintridge.
And while the small, affluent community may not have the celebrity cachet of Hollywood Hills, he can count actress Angela Bassett and a host of entertainment-industry types among his neighbors. Plus, the schools are good. To borrow his oft-quoted phrase: It’s “so money.”
Still, it will be a big change from his three-level penthouse atop Chicago’s Palmolive Building. That property was listed at $16.8 million until recently.
His new Colonial-style home sits on three-quarters of an acre with a swimming pool and a sports court. There are five bedrooms, six bathrooms and 5,563 square feet of living space.
Also a producer and screenwriter, the 43-year-old Vaughn has starred in movies such as “Wedding Crashers” (2005), “Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story” (2004) and “Swingers” (1996). He will be in “The Internship,” due out next month, and “Delivery Man.”
Debra McCoy of Dilbeck Real Estate was the listing agent, and Christine Navarro of Podley Properties was the sales agent, according to the Multiple Listing Service.

Listed to tune of $1.1 million
Martin Johnson, lead singer and songwriter for Boys Like Girls, has put his Studio City home up for sale at $1.1 million.
The three-story contemporary, built in 1978, features vaulted ceilings, balconies, canyon views, two fireplaces, two bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and 2,681 square feet of living space. The more than quarter-acre lot has fruit trees, a lawn and a hot tub.
Boys Like Girls released a self-titled album in 2006, “Love Drunk” in 2009 and “Crazy World” last year. Johnson has worked with Taylor Swift and Hannah Montana, among others, as a songwriter and producer.
Johnson, 27, bought the property in 2010 for $737,000.

Venice charmer ‘touched’ buyer
Actress Maria Bello has sold her Craftsman home in Venice for $2 million.
The house went into escrow seven days after it came on the market and sold for 8% above the asking price of $1.85 million.
Built in 1915 and set behind gates in a walk-street area, the house is a charmer -- painted blue with red doors and windows and yellow accents. Features include a wood-burning fireplace, a front veranda, three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. There is a lawn, patio space and a single-car garage.
Bello, 46, has been on the TV series “Touched” (2012-13) and “Prime Suspect” (2011-12). Her film work includes “Payback” (1999), “Secret Window” (2004) and “World Trade Center” (2006). She will be in the summer comedy “Grown Ups 2.”
She bought the property in 2005 for $1.895 million.

Closing book on Westside estate
Author-screenwriter-actress Victoria Foyt has listed her longtime Westside home at $29.95 million.
Set on 3.3 acres behind antique wrought-iron gates, the 14,000-square-foot mansion was built in 1932. The Mediterranean-style home features an arched entry colonnade, an oval foyer with a grand staircase, art deco tile work, inlaid wood floors, vaulted ceilings, a sun room, carved stone fireplace mantels and a hidden bar revealed with the push of a panel.
There are 12 bedrooms and 11.5 bathrooms. A 72-foot-long swimming pool, a cabana, terraces, a guesthouse and a brook complete the grounds.
Foyt’s books include “The Virtual Life of Lexie Diamond” and “Save the Pearls: Revealing Eden.”

3 L.A. anchors make the news
Three Los Angeles anchors are making some news of their own.
Longtime anchor Kent Shocknek has sold his Pasadena house for $2.145 million.
The single-level courtyard-style house, built in 1952, is set on three-quarters of an acre. The home features floor-to-ceiling windows, three bedrooms, four bathrooms and 3,375 square feet of living space. The guesthouse contains a fourth bedroom. There is a swimming pool, a 537-square-foot pool house and a screened-in gazebo.
Shocknek spent 15 years on “Today in L.A.,” then left in 2001 to do morning news at CBS2. He bought his house in 1996 for $582,500, public records show.
Over on Channel 7, news anchor David Ono is marketing his Toluca Lake house at $2.749 million.
The East Coast-inspired traditional, built in 1936, includes a two-story entry, a family room with a wet bar, a gym/dance studio, stained-glass windows, six bedrooms, seven bathrooms and 5,300 square feet of living space. A swimming pool and a pool pavilion with a brick fireplace and flat-screen TV complete the grounds.
Ono has been with ABC7 since 1996. He bought his property in 2005 for $2.175 million.
Also at Channel 7, weather anchor Garth Kemp has a Moorpark house listed at $995,000.
Set in a gated community, the two-story Spanish-style house has a formal entry, built-in cabinetry, three fireplaces, five bedrooms, five bathrooms and 4,112 square feet of living space. Kemp paid $899,000 for the home in 2011.
