Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell bail out of their Malibu beach house
After a couple of years and price cuts, actors Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have closed up their longtime Malibu beach house, selling it for $9.5 million.
Entered through a gated courtyard, the Balinese-inspired house backs up to sand dunes and the ocean. The 4,200-square-foot house, built in 1978, was redesigned and renovated in 2005. There is a screening room, an office and a detached guesthouse. The master suite features floor-to-ceiling windows and a beachfront balcony for a total of four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms.
Hawn, 67, was a hit with television viewers in the late 1960s for her role as a regular on “Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In.” She won a supporting actress Oscar for “Cactus Flower” (1969) and was nominated for lead actress in “Private Benjamin” (1980).
Russell, 62, will star in the upcoming comedy “The Art of the Steal.” His raft of credits includes the 2006 version of “Poseidon,” “Stargate” (1994) and “Overboard” (1987), in which both he and Hawn starred.
The property, which has been for sale or lease frequently since 1995, was listed two years ago at a high of $14.749 million.
Kimberley Pfeiffer and Christopher Cortazzo of Coldwell Banker were the listing agents. Elena Bongiovanni of Equity Plus Mortgage represented the buyer.
Changes afoot for new Laker
New L.A. Laker Chris Kaman has parted with his house in Manhattan Beach for $4.2 million.
The Spanish-style house, built in 2006, features a rotunda entry, six bedrooms, six bathrooms, a terrace and 5,442 square feet of living space on two stories.
The white stucco home with a red-tile roof has a three-car garage with wooden doors and sits on a 7,564-square-foot lot with a walled-in yard.
The former Dallas Mavericks center, who played for the Los Angeles Clippers for eight years, signed a $3.2-million, one-year agreement with the Lakers.
Kaman, 31, bought the home new for $4.175 million, public records show.
Roz gives up her Malibu place
Actress Peri Gilpin of “Frasier” fame and her husband, artist Christian Vincent, have sold their place in Malibu for $4.25 million.
Described as a “quintessential Malibu Colony cottage” in the listing, the main house and guesthouse contain four bedrooms, four bathrooms and 1,783 square foot of living space. The backyard includes a wood-burning fireplace, built-in barbecue and a spa.
Gilpin, 52, has appeared this year in the series “Men at Work.” She played Roz Doyle on “Frasier” (1993-2004).
The couple bought the property for $3.55 million in 2010, public records show.
Gayle Pritchett and Matthew Ogden of Pritchett-Rapf & Associates were the listing agents. Jonah Wilson of Hilton & Hyland/Christie’s International Real Estate represented the buyer.
A first foray into real estate?
Actress Jennette McCurdy has picked up a home in Studio City for $905,000, public records show.
This is her name’s first appearance on L.A. County property records, according to Zillow, which uncovered the sale.
The contemporary Mediterranean, built in 1987 and updated, features an open floor plan, family room, two fireplaces, a den/office, three bedrooms, two bathrooms and 2,600 square feet of living space. There are decks and a hot tub.
McCurdy, 21, starred on “iCarly” from 2007 to 2012 and is now in the series “Sam & Cat.” She starred in the TV movie “Best Player” (2011) and will be in “Swindle,” due out in September.
The property previously sold in 2012 for $740,000.

From ‘intern’ to homeowner
Ross Mathews, who gained fame as “Ross the Intern” on “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno,” has bought a home in Glendale for close to $1.1 million.
The newly renovated contemporary, built in 1977, features city views, a game room, a wine cellar, three bedrooms, three bathrooms and more than 3,700 square feet of living space. It sits on more than three-quarters of an acre.
Ross, 33, started on the “The Tonight Show” in 2006 and also is a regular on “Chelsea Lately.” He appears to have flipped for a flip. The property sold a little more than a year ago for $520,000.

Seriously, there’s a pond
No doubt he’d like to meet the buyers.
Screenwriter Jim Herzfeld, of “Meet the Fockers” and “Meet the Parents” fame, has his home listed in Pasadena at $4.195 million.
The traditional-style house, built in 1999, has the distinction of sitting on close to an acre with a spring-fed pond. Not any easy amenity to come by in the Los Angeles area.
The home’s 6,600 square feet of living space includes dining, family and living rooms, five bedrooms and seven bathrooms. There’s also a swimming pool.
Herzfeld bought the property in 1998 for $720,000, public records show.
