Home sale brings pain and gain to Mark Wahlberg

Share

Mark Wahlberg has sold his home in the 90210 ZIP Code for $12.995 million — $1 million less than the actor-producer was asking when he listed it two years ago.

The contemporary Mediterranean estate, built in 1985, has been updated throughout its 11,500 square feet of living space. In addition to the five-bedroom, eight-bathroom main house, the property features a guesthouse and a detached gym with a boxing ring where the actor trained for his starring role in “The Fighter” (2010).

Wahlberg, 42, has been executive producer on a number of television shows including “Boardwalk Empire,” “Entourage” and “How to Make It in America.” He was nominated for Academy Awards for his acting in “The Departed” (2006) and “The Fighter.” He starred this year in “Two Guns,” “Pain & Gain” and “Broken City.”

The property, marketed in 2008 at a high of $15.9 million, was purchased in 2001 for $4.95 million. The Times Mapping Database identifies the area as Beverly Crest.

Felix Pena of Hilton & Hyland/Christie’s International Real Estate and Hillel Sanowicz of Keller Williams Realty, Sunset Plaza, were the listing agents. Elise Woroboff of Keller Williams’ Beverly Hills office represented the buyer.

Out of this world in Los Feliz

Zoe Saldana, known for her roles as Neytiri in “Avatar” and as Uhura in the new “Star Trek” movies, is off the market and her house in Los Feliz is on — at $1.199 million.

The actress married Italian artist Marco Perego this summer, so she may no longer need her contemporary-style home, which was built in 1955. Features include an updated kitchen, four bedrooms and four bathrooms within its 2,800 square feet of living space.

The combo living/dining/sitting area has views of the surrounding hills. A bonus room opens to a redwood deck in the backyard.

She bought the home in 2006 for $1.005 million, public records show.

Saldana, 35, also stars in the upcoming thriller “Blood Ties.”
