‘American Horror Story’ mansion is back on market
The Tudor-style house used as the setting for the first season of the FX series “American Horror Story” is back on the market at $7.8 million. Perhaps hoping to capitalize on its stardom, the property, designated a Los Angeles historic-cultural monument, was listed at $17 million at the beginning of the year, according to the Multiple Listing Service.
Suitable for large-scale entertaining, the Alfred F. Rosenheim Mansion was built in 1908. Three stories of nooks and crannies include stained-glass windows, period light fixtures, a billiards room, a sun room, six fireplaces, six bedrooms, five bathrooms and 7,588 square feet of living space. The basement contains a hidden room.
The Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk series, launched last year, centers on transplanted Bostonians who move into a house that is haunted.
