The Malibu estate of Westside real estate agent Kurt Rappaport has quietly sold to billionaire investor Daryl Katz for $85 million — an all-in price that includes the furnishings, according to a spokesperson for Katz.

The off-market transaction ties that of David Geffen’s compound, which sold last year for the same price, for the most expensive residential sale recorded in the beach community.

The estate sits on a bluff of more than 5 acres just north of Pepperdine University on Pacific Coast Highway.

Designed by Malibu-based Scott Mitchell Studio, the monolithic-vibe house was designed to capture the ocean-view setting while maintaining a clean and elegant form. Horizontal lines, black granite tile and board-formed concrete walls are among features of the 9,000-square-foot house. Expanses of floor-to-ceiling windows are centered toward the coastline.

The home, completed in 2012, has six bedrooms and seven bathrooms, tax records show. There are two guest suites plus an infinity-edge swimming pool. A large swath of lawn and minimalist landscaping complete the coastal setting.

Katz, 56, has history when it comes to L.A.’s high-end real estate market. Three years ago the investor paid $34.5 million for the onetime Art Linkletter estate in Bel-Air. He followed that up in 2016 by buying a nearby home once owned by Arthur Marx, the son of comic actor Groucho Marx, for $9.1 million.

The Canadian businessman built a fortune in the pharmacy business before buying the Edmonton Oilers hockey franchise in 2009 for a reported $200 million. In 2015, he entered the Hollywood arena by partnering with producer Joel Silver to form the production house Silver Pictures Entertainment.

The Clippers’ DeAndre Jordan has listed his home in Malibu for sale at $6.5 million.

The two-story contemporary sits at the end of its own gated driveway in the guard-gated Serra Retreat neighborhood.

Extensively remodeled, the house features high ceilings, wide-plank wood floors and full smart-home and security systems. Massive pocket doors open to a covered terrace for indoor-outdoor entertaining.

Living and dining rooms, a movie theater, five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms lie within the 4,600 square feet of interior space. A wet bar finished in reclaimed-wood siding sits off the kitchen, which has been upgraded with sleek custom cabinetry and a broad island. Off the second-floor master suite is a private balcony.

Outside, the fenced and tree-lined backyard centers on a swimming pool with a tiled spa. A patio with built-in seating, a detached guest suite, lawns and professional landscaping fill out the more than half-acre setting.

Views from the property take in surrounding mountains and tree lines.

Jordan, 29, has provided a steady presence at center for the Clippers since being selected in the second round of the 2008 draft. The 6-foot-11 Jordan has twice led the NBA in total rebounds and was an All-Star selection in 2017.

50 shades of Carolwood

The Holmby Hills home of late Paramount Pictures chairman and chief executive Brad Grey is for sale at $77.5 million.

Called the Grey Estate, the property on Carolwood Drive centers on a modern farmhouse-style residence with five bedrooms within about 12,800 square feet of living space.

Clad in weathered wood panels, the Howard Bracken-designed home sits behind wood- and steel-framed gates and is surrounded by olive trees, orchards and gardens. A raised bridge connects the main house to a two-story recreation facility outfitted with two gyms, a cold plunge and a sauna with a blue-bottomed swimming pool.

At the heart of the home is a barn-inspired and vaulted-ceiling great room that holds an open kitchen and dining area. A sunroom features walls of steel-framed windows, and the den holds an office and a wet bar. There’s also a home theater.

The wings of the home are positioned to look onto a central courtyard with a reflecting pool and large fireplace feature. Nearby, a slatted-wood trellis for filtering sunlight tops an outdoor dining room. An organic fruit orchard and a vegetable and herb garden sit adjacent.

Linda May of Hilton & Hyland, an affiliate of Christie’s International Realty, and Stephen Shapiro of Westside Estate Agency hold the listing.

Grey, who died last year at 59, oversaw such movie blockbusters as the “Star Trek” and “Transformers” movies during his tenure at Paramount. As a talent manager and a producer, Grey helped bring “The Larry Sanders Show” and “Real Time With Bill Maher” to HBO.

Charlie Sheen is ready to call it a wrap in Mulholland Estates. The actor of “Two and a Half Men” fame has sold two homes in the gated Sherman Oaks community in the last three years. Now he’s put his personal residence in the area on the market at $9,999,999.

Set on half an acre in guard-gated Mulholland Estates, the Mediterranean spot opens to a two-story foyer flanked by a winding staircase. Living spaces in the 8,932-square-foot interior include a formal dining room, a wood-beamed living room, a bonus room, an office and a theater room with a wet bar.

A miniature food elevator runs orders from the kitchen to the master suite, which has its own living and screening rooms. In all, there are seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms.

Two swimming pools, covered lounges and a gazebo fill the backyard.

Sheen, 52, has a long list of film credits that include “Wall Street” (1987), “Major League” (1989) and “The Three Musketeers” (1993).

Ben Salem of Rodeo Realty is the listing agent.

Jet-set on a new tenant

Isabel Goldsmith, the jet-setting daughter of late British-French tycoon Sir James Goldsmith, has listed her penthouse in Westwood for lease at $14,000 a month.

The top-floor residence is in a midcentury-modern-style building that dates to 1962. It features nearly 3,300 square feet of living space, vaulted and arching ceiling and walls of curved windows that take in city and ocean views. Wraparound terraces provide ample space for outdoor entertaining.

Living spaces include a large foyer that opens to a living room with a fireplace and to a formal dining room. A Persian-blue island and backsplash give the kitchen a retro vibe. The master suite, one of two bedrooms, has a separate sitting room and walk-in closet.

Goldsmith is the founder of Las Alamandas, a 16-suite boutique resort on Mexico’s Pacific coast. She divides her time among London, Paris, Mexico and the Westside of Los Angeles.

Hillary Stevens and Joyce Rey of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage hold the listing.
