Sold: Tin Man Jack Haley's family home in Beverly Hills

The Jack Haley family home, which he bought it in 1941 for $26,000, has two stories, four bedrooms and a sun room.

Update: The family home of Jack Haley, the Tin Man in the 1939 classic, "The Wizard of Oz," has sold in Beverly Hills for $2,876,250.

Haley raised his two children in the Spanish-style house, which was the center of family life and social gatherings. The two-story home, built in 1926, has a sun room, a den, an office, four bedrooms and four bathrooms. He bought the 4,889-square-foot house in 1941 for $26,000 cash.

Haley died in 1979 at age 80.

Kristina Long and Sharona Davidian of Sotheby's International Realty's Sunset office had the listing. Nasser Shamsian represented the buyer.
