Got a thing for the unusual?

Laurie Frank, owner and curator of the Frank Pictures Gallery in Santa Monica’s Bergamot Station Arts complex, has listed her Hollywood Hills home for sale at $1,495,000 or for lease -- fully furnished, including artwork -- for $9,000 a month.

The 3,466-square-foot Spanish-style home has five bedrooms and three bathrooms. Outside the master bedroom is a large covered sleeping porch. The one-of-a-kind house includes hand-fluted teak floors and custom-made doors and windows. The kitchen cabinets and most closets were constructed from the windows and doors of a 200-year-old Moroccan house. All the hardware is antique.

“I think of it as wall jewelry,” Frank said. The 100-year-old bathtub is copper and mahogany, and the medicine cabinet is made from an old church altar with the date “1858” carved into the door in ornate script. The house, in a historic zone, has five terraces.

The house, originally owned by Maurice Chevalier, was damaged by fire and completely rebuilt two years ago.

Before opening her gallery, Frank was a founding editor of You Magazine and a documentary filmmaker with credits that include “ABC News Closeup” and CBS’ “The Body Human” series. She was a director of short films for “Saturday Night Live” and wrote the feature films “Making Mr. Right” (1987) and “Love Crimes” (1992). She has owned galleries for the past 10 years.

Juliette Hohnen of Keller Williams Realty, Beverly Hills, has the listing.
