How many music video directors can say their work is part of a permanent museum collection? Mark Romanek’s music videos have won three Grammys, about two dozen MTV awards and a place of honor in the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.

He is now trying to sell his Hollywood Hills home at $3,995,000. The walled and gated Mediterranean has four bedrooms and 4 1/2 bathrooms. Property records say the house has 4,706 square feet.

There are formal gardens, a high-ceilinged master bedroom suite, formal dining room, chef’s kitchen with a family room and a pool and spa.

Romanek has directed videos for Fiona Apple, Audioslave, Beck, Mick Jagger, Madonna, Macy Gray, Janet Jackson and Michael Jackson, among others.

He also directed the 2002 feature film “One Hour Photo,” written from his screenplay. The movie starred Robin Williams, Connie Nielsen and Michael Vartan.

He directed two David Bowie music videos -- “Jump They Say” and “Black Tie White Noise,” both from 1993 -- that are in MoMA’s collection.

His wife and co-owner of the property, Brigette Romanek, is the designer of the upscale handbag line B. Romanek.

Barry Sloane of Sotheby’s International Realty, Beverly Hills, is the listing agent, according to the Multiple Listing Service.
