Amazon offers Kindle Fire HDX on no-interest installment payments

Share

Amazon.com is continuing to offer customers new deals on its Kindle Fire HDX tablets, with the most recent promotion giving consumers the option of paying for the gadget in four no-interest installments.

The Seattle-based online retailer will let customers who buy the Kindle Fire HDX before Dec. 25 spread their payments across 270 days. Through the offer, customers can pay a fourth of their payment upfront, along with shipping costs and any taxes that may apply.

The subsequent payments will then be automatically charged every 90 days. The deal applies to the 7-inch and the 8.9-inch version of the Kindle Fire HDX.

Through the offer, customers can pick up the 7-inch Kindle Fire HDX, which normally starts at $229, for $57.25 plus shipping and tax on the first payment. The $379 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HDX comes down to $94.75 plus shipping and tax on the first payment.

For anyone wondering if they can simply stop paying after the upfront costs, Amazon says it will deregister those users.

That “will block your ability to access Amazon content from your Kindle Fire HDX device, and suspend or terminate your Amazon.com account,” the company said.

The deal is one of many Amazon has introduced over the past month to boost holiday sales of the Kindle Fire HDX. Customers who would like to take advantage of the offer can accept on Amazon’s website.
