Apple announced Tuesday that it had upgraded its iMacs with a faster processor, among other improved features.
The new iMacs are available immediately from Apple's online store. Their arrival comes just a few weeks before the expected release of the new version of Apple's desktop operating system Mavericks.
Apple has said Mavericks will be available in the fall. Several reports have pegged the official release date as late October.
In the meantime, Apple fans can now get their hands on the new iMacs, which range in price from $1,299 to $1,999.
The faster processors range from a 2.7 GHz to 3.4 GHz quad-core Intel Core i5. The new iMacs also have faster WiFi connectivity and better Flash storage.
