Apple is updating iOS 6 for the iPhone, the iPad and the iPod Touch with a handful of useful features including allowing high-speed LTE connectivity with more carriers.

The Cupertino, Calif., company released the iOS 6.1 update Monday morning. Users can access the update on their devices by going to the Settings app, tapping General and selecting Software Update.

The software update is particularly useful for owners of devices that don’t have 4G LTE connectivity.

It’ll allow the iPhone 5, the third and fourth-generation iPad and the iPad mini to have the high-speed data connection with more carriers. It is currently only available with AT&T;, Verizon, Sprint and several smaller carriers. The connectivity will be expanded to 36 more carriers for the iPhone 5 and 23 more carriers for the LTE-enabled iPad devices.

Besides LTE, the iOS 6.1 update gives U.S. owners of Siri-enabled devices the ability to purchase movie tickets from Fandango using the voice assistant.

Also, users who subscribe to Apple’s iTunes Match service can now download individual songs from iCloud, a feature that Apple had removed on the prior iOS update.

Separately, Apple released an update for its Apple TV that’ll allow its second- and third-generation devices to connect to Bluetooth keyboards, giving users an easier way to search for TV programs.
