Evangeline Lilly provides the voiceover for a video that's part of a new campaign to raise awareness about recent disclosures about how the government uses the Internet to gather data on U.S. citizens.

Two advocacy groups have released a new video narrated by actress Evangeline Lilly to bring attention to their campaign against federal surveillance efforts. 

Fight for the Future and Demand Progress crowd-funded the new video, which attempts to explain the intricate methods that National Security Agency and other federal agencies are using to monitor Internet activity and phone calls.

"The government has turned the Internet we love into something it was never intended to be: a tool for surveilling everyone," Lilly says on the video.

The video also invites viewers to paricipate in an upcoming StopWatchingUs rally in Washington on Oct. 26.
