Rita Green, 61, moved from a 17-acre farm near Toledo, Ohio, where she raised and bred horses and shepherd dogs, to a 1,000-square-foot Streeterville apartment. Green wanted to move closer to her three grown children, all of whom live in Chicago, after her divorce two years ago. She brought her business with her, and merged with associates in other cities to found her current executive recruitment firm, Dieckmann & Associates. "I love Chicago, but I miss the country and having animals, so I've thought about getting dogs since my building allows you to have two."
