Let's count the ways: Wasting a 16-hit attack, squandering a four-hit performance from the No. 9 hitter (Gordon Beckham), minimizing six crafty innings from Freddy Garcia because of a four-run ninth off closer Bobby Jenks in which manager Ozzie Guillen second-guessed the pitch selection. The July 18 loss was capped by a throwing error by usually reliable center fielder Alex Rios that gave many the feeling that momentum in the American League Central was shifting toward the Twin Cities. The anger and disappointment expressed by fans at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport after the game was understandable.
