Christopher Kelly, 51, who was to report to federal prison officials this week to start serving an 8-year sentence, died September 12 at Stroger Hospital in what authorities said was a possible suicide from an over-the-counter medication. Kelly, a chief fundraiser for former Gov. Rod Blagojevich -- who also was one of his closest advisers -- had been indicted three times by federal authorities in recent years, the last time in April in the sweeping conspiracy case against the ex-governor. Kelly's death comes just four days after he made a court appearance and admitted his role in a kickback scheme to bring in $8.5 million in business at O'Hare International Airport to his roofing company.
