A 15-year-old boy was seriously wounded in a shooting this evening in the Southwest Side’s West Lawn neighborhood, police and fire officials said.
The shooting happened at about 6 p.m. near the corner of Hamlin Avenue and 64th Street, said Chicago Police Officer Dan O’Brien. The teen was struck twice, once each in the back and shoulder, he said.
The gunman fled on foot after the shooting. There was no description available.
The teen was taken to Stroger Hospital, said Will Knight, a Chicago Fire Department spokesman. He was in serious condition, according to police.Copyright © 2014, Los Angeles Times
