A man and a woman were hospitalized this evening after being shot in the Uptown neighborhood, police said.
The shooting happened at 6:15 p.m. on the 4900 block of North Sheridan Road, police said.
The man, 57, was driving when someone on the street began shooting toward his car, and he and the woman, age 28, who was on the street nearby, were both wounded, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada.
The man drove himself to Weiss Memorial Hospital, and the woman was taken there via ambulance, Estrada said. Both were initially in good condition.
There was no indication whether the man and woman who were shot knew each other, Estrada said. No one was in custody this morning.
