Charlie Wilson, lead singer for the funk and soul group the Gap Band, will close out the Country Club Hills Theater summer concert series. Wilson's solo career has been a re-emergence, with several hits that remind those who followed the Gap Band in the '80s what made the group's sound so good: Wilson's timeless voice that fits into the R&B, pop and hip-hop genres. Wilson is also reaching out to fans and the public at large as a Prostate Cancer Foundation spokesman, having been diagnosed himself and having lost his father to prostate cancer.
