Heather Moran

Singer Heather Moran is swinging for the fences with this performance, which will fete female jazz singers of the 1950s. She will be working up selections made famous by the likes of Julie London, Peggy Lee, Rosemary Clooney, Doris Day, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday and June Christy. That's quite a lineup, but Moran's fans believe that she has the power to pull it off. It's also a very good reason to hit the revitalized Wilmette Theatre. Why: The '50s were an amazing time for vocal music, and Moran can sing. Reconsider: This won't be an exact re-creation, as Moran is her own artist. Details: 7:30 p.m. Monday, Wilmette Theatre, 1122 Central Ave., Wilmette. $15 and $20; 847-251-7411 or wilmettetheatre.com
