A significant development just occurred at the 2012 Summer Games in London, six hours ahead of Chicago. And the Chicago Tribune, a news organization, has reported it. And on our Facebook page, there are complaints that announcing the development merits a SPOILER ALERT moniker.
Let's look in on the conversation. There are already 42 comments on Facebook.
It reminds me of the time a few years ago when Stephanie Izard won on Top Chef, and Chicago Tribune readers with TiVO were upset when we reported the Chicago chef's victory after the show had ended.
I suppose the breaking alerts should read SPOILER ALERT. But we should report the news, right? I mean, right?
It feels so wrong to me otherwise.
At any rate, go Olympians!
