Five for Fighting

The one-man (John Ondrasik) "Superman" band, Five for Fighting, comes to the Blue Chip Casino's Stardust Event Center. Five has been that band with the socially conscious songs since its 1997 debut, "Message for Albert," and the Grammy-nominated "Superman" heard all over after 9/11 as a song of healing. Ondrasik has taken his heal-the-world theme a step further with the fundraising website whatkindofworlddoyouwant.com. Why go: Whether you give a hoot about the state of the world, a Five for Fighting live performance of hits from "100 Years" and "The Riddle" to "World" and "Slice" will move anyone. Reconsider: Wait, is this a band or one dude? Details: 8 p.m. Saturday at Blue Chip Casino, 777 Blue Chip Drive, Michigan City, Ind.; $40-$65; 800-745-3000, ticketmaster.com
