Blind Boys of Alabama

The Blind Boys of Alabama bring the spiritual cheer with a performance of "Go Tell It on the Mountain" (2003) in its entirety. Although the Grammy winners have made a splash across musical cultures (duets with rockers, a country-gospel album), it's the traditional gospel that brings tears and joy. Why go: Roots music singer-songwriter Ernie Hendrickson also performs. Reconsider: You get all the gospel music you need in the summer at the Gospel Music Festival in Chicago. 8 p.m. Saturday at City Winery Chicago, 1200 W. Randolph St.; $38-$45; 312-733-9463,
