The title track is a 25-minute setting for chorus and orchestra of a text by St. Silouan, a monk on Mount Athos in Greece. The Estonian composer treats Adam¿s grief at his expulsion from paradise as a spiritual parable for humankind. Orthodox-style chant and ethereal strings combine with greater dramatic intensity than is usual with Part. It shares a disc with seven of his shorter choral works; all are performed with dedication by the Latvian Radio Choir, Vox Clamantis, Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and Talinn Chamber Orchestra.
