DuPage County officials are searching for a University of Illinois at Chicago student whose car and backpack were found near an Addison-area creek Thursday.
Mateusz “Matt” Rybarski, 21, who lives in unincorporated DuPage County near Addison, was last seen at home on Monday. His car and his backpack were found near Salt Creek outside Addison on Thursday, according to police and family friends. Rybarski, a gymnast, is in his last year of college, pursuing a bioengineering degree, but has been battling depression, according to a family friend.
DuPage and Addison police searched the area, but were unable to find Rybarski, according to a release from the DuPage Sheriff’s office. He may be trying to go to Montana via train or Greyhound bus.
Rybarski stands 5-foot-11, and weighs about 180 lbs with blonde hair and blue eyes.
