9 injured in accident on Far Northwest Side

At least nine people were injured this afternoon in an accident on the Northwest Side in the city's Montclare neighborhood.

Chicago Fire Department paramedics responded to the accident shortly after 3:30 p.m. near the intersection of Belmont and Oak Park avenues.

Nine people were injured in the accident, according to Chicago Fire Department officials.

One person was taken in serious-to-critical condition to an area hospital. Seven people were taken in fair-to-serious and one in good condition to the hospital, officials said.

There was no immediate information available about their ages or genders.

There also was no immediate information available from Police News Affairs officials about the circumstances leading up to the accident or the type of vehicles involved.
