"What happened to the beard?" It was the question everyone wanted to ask New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, but Barack Obama answered it at a Dec. 3 news conference with the president-elect and his nominee for secretary of commerce.
"I think it was a mistake for him to get rid of it," Obama said. "I thought that whole western, rugged look was really working for him."
