Hiring Ventura: The White Sox hit a home run in making Robin Ventura their manager. While the Sox did a September swoon and missed the playoffs, Ventura was a welcome change in the clubhouse from the final sad days of Ozzie Guillen. Ventura clearly was in the learn-as-you-go mode and may have worn out his horses during the stretch run, but he was successful enough that other teams hired what they thought were Ventura clones. Oh, and second best decision? Keeping organizational stability by promoting Rick Hahn to general manager.
