Blackhawks 3, Coyotes 2
Blackhawks 3, Coyotes 2: The Blackhawks backs were against the wall when they took the ice against the Coyotes in Game 5 of the Western Conference quarterfinals April 21 in Glendale, Ariz. The Hawks trailed the best-of-seven series 3-1 and were down a goal in the third period when they staged a thrilling comeback to capture a 3-2 victory in overtime to extend their season. After Nick Leddy evened the score midway through the third period, Jonathan Toews notched the game-winner in overtime -- the fifth consecutive game in the series to go beyond regulation -- with a wrist shot past goaltender Mike Smith. We want to feel like this game is a turning point for us in the series, Toews said afterward. It wasnt as the Hawks were eliminated a few nights later at the United Center.
