Beth A. Brooks has been appointed president of Resurrection University, a health sciences institution affiliated with the Resurrection Health Care System of Chicago. She has been serving as interim president since January. Before that, Brooks was at the College of Nursing at the University of Illinois at Chicago as associate dean for Educational Outreach and executive director of the Institute for Health Care Innovation as well as the airector of the Graduate Program in Administrative Nursing. In that time she also was an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Health Systems Science, winning the Graduate Teaching Award of Excellence. Brooks has developed programs for improving nursing work life. He "Quality of Nursing Worklife Survey" has been used in 13 countries from Iran to Thailand and most recently in Taiwan. Brooks has a PhD in nursing sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago, an M.S. in nursing administration from Northwestern University and a B.S. in nursing from Valparaiso University.
