'Book of Mormon' announces Chicago cast, including James Vincent Meredith

NEW YORK — The Chicago cast of the satirical musical "The Book of Mormon" will feature Nic Rouleau, the current star of the Broadway company, in the central role of Elder Price, along with Ben Platt (known for his work in the movie “Pitch Perfect) as his sidekick Elder Cunningham, its producers announced here Thursday.

There is also a major role for James Vincent Meredith, a Steppenwolf Theatre Company ensemble member, recently in "The March." Meredith will play Mafala Hatimbi, one of the complex characters that the Mormons encounter on their head-spinning mission to Uganda. The other Chicago-based actor in the show will be Jackson Evans as Elder McKinley. Evans is a recent graduate of Northwestern University and was in Chicago Shakespeare’s "Short Shakespeare! The Taming of the Shrew."
