Burglary suspect sketch released by Cook County sheriff

Lemont

Some residents of a home near Lemont surprised a burglar this week and got a look at him before he was able to flee with some of their possessions.

The Cook County sheriff's office today released a sketch of the suspect and asked the public for help in tracking him down.

About 9:30 a.m. Wednesday the residents returned to their home on the 13100 block of Derby Road in Cook County's Lemont Township and saw an unfamiliar blue SUV parked in their driveway, according to the sheriff's office.

As they approached their door the burglar was able to flee the scene with some of their belongings, and officers later found evidence of forced entry in the rear entrance of the home.

The robber was described as a white male of unknown age, 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds, with brown hair. The sketch depicts him wearing a T-shirt but no clothing description was released.

The make and model of the 2-door blue SUV are unknown, and the vehicle had temporary license plates.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Cook County sheriff's office at 847-635-1188.
