Director Peter Bogdanovich's film "The Cat's Meow," dealt with a death aboard William Randolph Hearst's boat circa 1920. Charlie Chaplin, who was on board, figures heavily into the story. Bogdanovich went to Chaplin's old haunting ground in Chicago, where he got his start: the old Essanay Movie Studios.
