'Flood fighting is in our DNA': To live by the Feather River is to know its power and danger

Shemekia Copeland

Born into blues royalty, singer Shemekia Copeland (daughter of legendary guitarist Johnny Copeland) interprets dad's "One More Time" on her latest disc, "33 1/3" (Telarc). She also visits a few Sam Cooke and Bob Dylan songs on that album. Teenage guitarist Quinn Sullivan will perform during her set, and since he's a protege of Buddy Guy, there's no telling who may make a surprise visit. 8 p.m. Thursday, Pritzker Pavilion, Millennium Park
