2 wounded in South Side shootings

Two men in their 20s sustained gunshot wounds in separate South Side shootings Wednesday, police said.

A 22-year-old man was shot in the right arm about 1:30 p.m. in the 5700 block of South Princeton Avenue in Englewood, police said.

He was taken to Holy Cross Hospital before being transferred to Advocate Christ Medical Center, police said.

About 6:55 p.m., a 23-year-old man was shot in the 8100 block of South Exchange Avenue in the South Chicago neighborhood.

He exchanged words with three others before one of the three pulled a handgun and opened fire, police said, hitting the man in the back side of his thigh.

He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in stable condition, police said.

Nobody is in custody and detectives from Area Central and Area South are investigating.
