A man and woman were shot in the Marquette Park neighborhood this evening, officials said.
Both victims, a woman, age 31, and a man, age 23, were stabilized before being taken for treatment from the 3000 block of West 64th Street, according to the Fire Department. The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, while the woman was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, according to the Fire Department.
The shooting took place about 5:40 p.m., said Chicago Police News Affairs Sgt. Antoinette Ursitti.
The man suffered gunshot wounds to his back and side, while the woman was shot in the arm and stomach, according to the Fire Department's media office.
Police did not release information about the circumstances of the shooting, saying officers were not able to interview the man and woman before they entered the operating room.
