Three Dog Night

If you apply sabermetrics to the music of Three Dog Night, it's easy to see why the group was/is so popular: From 1969 to 1974, Three Dog Night had more top 10 hits and sold more records and concert tickets than any other group. As of 2011, the band has the best Billboard Top 100 chart average. (claims the band's website). Not a numbers person? Then how about: "Shambala," "Mama Told Me Not to Come," "Joy to the World" and "One"? Why go: The group is not just an oldies station novelty act. Live shows have Cory Wells and Danny Hutton's lead vocals ringing in true Three Dog Night form.
