Date and place of incident: July 2001, 13300 block of South Davol Street, Chicago. Incident narrative: Police allege that shipping and receiving worker Nathaniel Rozelle attempted to lure a 15-year-old girl into his car. After Rozelle's car was stopped for an expired registration almost year later, he was identified in a line-up by the victim in the attempted abduction. Rozelle had a previous aggravated criminal sexual abuse conviction from 1998, for which he served three years probation. A church pastor wrote to the judge on Rozelles behalf, saying Rozelle was a "dedicated, committed Christian." Court outcome: Convicted of child abduction and sentenced to two years in prison and is a registered sex offender. He did not respond to a request for comment.
