Autopsy: Man's death partly attributed to cold exposure

The death of a 61-year-old man who was found deceased in the Kenwood neighborhood on Friday was partly attributed to cold exposure, an autopsy determined today.

John H. King III, who officials said appeared homeless, was found on the 4700 block of South Lake Shore Drive and was pronounced dead at a 6:35 a.m., officials said.

An autopsy performed today found the  primary cause of his death was coronary atherosclerosis, officials said.

The autopsy also gave a secondary cause of death as hypothermia due tof cold exposure, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

His death was ruled an accident, according to the medical examiner’s office.
