The man was pulling into his garage when someone shot through at least one of his car windows, wounding him, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Robert Perez.
Neighbors heard shots and looked out to see a dark-colored van speeding north in the alley, Perez said.
When officers arrived, they found the man in his vehicle, shot in the back, Perez said, citing early police information.
Police had no motive in the shooting and no one in custody.
A boy, 17, and a man, 21, walked into St. Anthony Hospital after they were shot early this morning, police said. The two told police they were driving in the 3500 block of West 25th Street when a white SUV with three people inside pulled up near them and someone inside shot at them, Perez said.
The boy was wounded in the leg, the man in the shoulder, Perez said.
At about 11:15 p.m. Tuesday, two men were shot as they stood in an alley behind the 5200 block of West Potomac Avenue in the North Austin neighborhood, police said.
A 30-year-old man was hit in the left side of the head and the abdomen and taken to Stroger in critical condition, Alfaro said. A 25-year-old man wounded in the upper chest was also taken to Stroger, where his condition was stabilized.

The 17-year-old was struck in the left arm, while the older teen suffered a graze wound to the buttocks, police said.
Both were taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, where they were listed in good condition, Alfaro said.
Police suspect the North Austin and Rogers Park shootings were gang-related but hadn't made any arrests.
