The attack took place about 10:20 p.m. Saturday in the 6500 block of South Campbell Avenue on the Southwest Side, police said. A 15-year-old girl was walking in the area when the man came up to her with a knife, then sexually assaulted her, according to a police alert.
On March 7, the same man is believed to have attacked a woman in the 2400 block of West 65th Street at about 6:30 a.m., just a block away from Saturday's attack, police said.
In the earlier attack, an 18-year-old woman was walking toward Western Avenue when a man who was armed with a knife approached her from behind, police said. The man forced her into an alley where he sexually assaulted the woman before fleeing the scene, police said.
The man is described as black, between 30 and 40 years old, between 5 feet 11 inches and 6 feet 2 inches tall. He weighs between 180 and 190 pounds, police said.
He had black hair and a dark complexion. He was wearing a black and red hooded sweatshirt, dark-colored pants and black shoes, police said.
