Both robberies happened on Jan. 12, when the victims were approached by four males who took their property by force, police said.
The first incident happened on the 2200 block of West Monroe Street at about 3:30 p.m., police said. The second incident happened several hours later at 7:10 p.m. on the 400 block of South Racine Avenue, police said.
While police said the descriptions of the offenders vary, they were generally described as four black males between 16 and 20 years of age. They were also between 5 feet 4 inches and 6 feet tall and weighed between 150 and 175 pounds, police said. Police said one of the men had hazel eyes and dreadlocks.
