A man in a vehicle was shot and killed Wednesday night in the Gresham neighborhood on the South Side, authorities said.
Kenton Morgan, 28, was shot about 9:30 p.m. on the 8000 block of South Halsted Street, officials from the Chicago Police Department and the Cook County medical examiner's office said.
He was found unresponsive and pronounced dead on the scene.
The shooting took place two blocks south on Halsted of the police department's Gresham District headquarters.
No suspects are in custody, and Area South detectives are investigating.
At least two other people were injured in overnight shootings.
Police were called to Loretto Hospital at about 1:40 a.m., where a 36-year-old man was treated for a gunshot wound to the back, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.
The man, who was listed in fair condition, did not tell police where the shooting occurred, Greer said, citing preliminary information.
Earlier Thursday morning, a man in his 20s was struck in the leg in the Noble Square neighborhood on the Northwest Side, Greer said.
The man was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was listed in good condition. The shooting occurred at about 12:20 a.m.
